Doing Justice & loving Mercy:
Humanitarian Issue

He has shown you, O man, what is good and what the Lord requires of you…to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Do for others what you would like them to do for you…Matt 7:12

Inside the remains of the concentration camp at Dachau, Germany there stands a memorial that simply reads:

      Never again.

And yet today in 2006, it is happening again.  Ethnic cleansing continues on in Darfur, the western portion of Sudan in Africa.  2 million people are displaced and living solely on international humanitarian assistance.  Many in America do not know what has been happening nor the state of affairs today.  Do you?

To contemplate:

  1. What is God’s justice in this situation?
  2. What are the complexities of this that I should ponder/pray about?
  3. Where does it appear God is acting in the midst of this situation?
  4. What is being nudged in my soul with regards to this situation/God’s action?
Pray for wisdom and discernment  to understand if/how these nudgings are moving you toward any particular action.  Then, possibly act.
